Anna is a visual artist, set, and video designer whose work bridges theater, installation, and media art. Her designs explore the poetics of space, light, and movement, often transforming the stage into an immersive environment that merges the visual and the sensory.

She has collaborated extensively with innovative theater companies and artists in New York and beyond. Her set designs include COMPASS for Rachel Dickstein; the Barrymore Award–nominated Franklin’s Key; Chekhov Lizardbrain, Isabella, and Pay Up with the Pig Iron Theatre Company; and Walk Across America with Taylor Mac and the Talking Band. With the Talking Band, she has also designed sets and projections for Existentialism, Burnished by Grief, Marcellus Shale, and Flip Side. Other projects include site-specific environment design for The Garden (Nichole Canuso Dance Company), and 36 PEAKS at the Baryshnikov Arts Center (S. C. Sunde); and costumes for Kafka Fragments (for Peter Sellars at Zankel Hall).

Anna’s independent multimedia works inspired by H. Murakami’s short stories—The Quake, Slow Ascent, and UFO (St. Ann’s Warehouse)—received support from the Jim Henson Foundation and reflect her ongoing interest in the intersection of image, sound, and narrative. She has been recognized with the ArtsLink Grant, the NEA/TCG Program for Designers, and the TCG New Generations Fellowship (with The Talking Band).

Her academic collaborations include teaching and design projects with Barnard/Columbia, Fordham University, The New School, Smith College, Montclair State, and Lehigh University, among others. She has also designed for opera and music productions with American Opera Projects, the Hungarian State Opera, and concerts at venues such as Zankel Hall and with the Young People’s Concert series of the New York Philharmonic, with a design currently in progress for the Silk Road Ensemble.

Anna has taught Scenic Design and Media at Barnard/Columbia and SUNY Purchase, mentoring emerging designers and encouraging cross-disciplinary exploration between visual art, theater, and architecture. In her time away from the stage, she continues her studio practice through painting and drawing, often investigating the geometric and emotional dimensions of colors and space.
